^9 (A)A vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of ^(B)Macedonia was standing and appealing to him, and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”

⁵ But I ^(A)will come to you after I go through ^(B)Macedonia, for I ^(C)am going through Macedonia;

^16 [a]that is, to ^(A)pass ^[b]your way into ^(B)Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and by you to be ^(C)helped on my journey to Judea.

¹³ I ^(A)had no rest for my spirit, not finding ^(B)Titus my brother; but ^(C)taking my leave of them, I went on to ^(D)Macedonia.

⁵ For even when we came into ^(A)Macedonia our flesh had no rest, but we were ^(B)afflicted on every side: ^(C)conflicts without, fears within.

Great Generosity

8 Now, brethren, we wish to make known to you the grace of God which has been ^(A)given in the churches of ^(B)Macedonia,

² for I know your readiness, of which I ^(A)boast about you to the ^(B)Macedonians, namely, that ^(C)Achaia has been prepared since ^(D)last year, and your zeal has stirred up most of them.

⁴ otherwise if any ^(A)Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we—not to speak of you—will be put to shame by this confidence.

⁹ and when I was present with you and was in need, I was ^(A)not a burden to anyone; for when ^(B)the brethren came from ^(C)Macedonia they fully supplied my need, and in everything I kept myself from ^(D)being a burden to you, ^[a]and will continue to do so.
