27 And when he intended to go into Achaia, the brothers (exhorting him) wrote to the disciples to receive him. And after he had come there, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace.
28 For he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, with great vehemence, showing by the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.

27 When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia,(A) the brothers and sisters(B) encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. When he arrived, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed. 28 For he vigorously refuted his Jewish opponents in public debate, proving from the Scriptures(C) that Jesus was the Messiah.(D)
