2 He said to them, “(A)Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said to him, “On the contrary, (B)we have not even heard if there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” And they said, “(C)Into John’s baptism.” 4 Paul said, “(D)John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people (E)to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”

Acts 19:2-4
New International Version
2 and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit(A) when[a] you believed?”
They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?”
“John’s baptism,” they replied.
4 Paul said, “John’s baptism(B) was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”(C)
