Acts 19:29-31 Wycliffe Bible (WYC)

29 And the city was filled with confusion, and they made an assault with one will into the theatre [the theatre, or common beholding place], and took Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, fellows of Paul.

30 And when Paul would have entered into the people, the disciples suffered not.

31 And also some of the princes of Asia, that were his friends, sent to him, and prayed [praying], that he should not give himself into the theatre.

Acts 19:29-31 New International Version (NIV)

29 Soon the whole city was in an uproar. The people seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Paul’s traveling companions from Macedonia, and all of them rushed into the theater together. 30 Paul wanted to appear before the crowd, but the disciples would not let him. 31 Even some of the officials of the province, friends of Paul, sent him a message begging him not to venture into the theater.
