And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages[a] as the Spirit gave them ability to speak out.

Now there were Jews residing in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. And when[b] this sound occurred, the crowd gathered and was in confusion, because each one was hearing them speaking in his own language.
