Acts 23:27-29

27 “When this man was arrested by the Jews and was about to be slain by them, (A)I came up to them with the troops and rescued him, (B)having learned that he was a Roman. 28 “And (C)wanting to ascertain the charge for which they were accusing him, I (D)brought him down to their [a](E)Council; 29 and I found him to be accused over (F)questions about their Law, but [b]under (G)no accusation deserving death or [c]imprisonment.

27 This man was seized by the Jews and they were about to kill him,(A) but I came with my troops and rescued him,(B) for I had learned that he is a Roman citizen.(C) 28 I wanted to know why they were accusing him, so I brought him to their Sanhedrin.(D) 29 I found that the accusation had to do with questions about their law,(E) but there was no charge against him(F) that deserved death or imprisonment.
