25 But Felix became afraid when Paul spoke about things like right living, self-control, and the time when God will judge the world. He said, “Go away now. When I have more time, I will call for you.” 26 At the same time Felix hoped that Paul would give him some money. So he sent for Paul often and talked with him.
27 But after two years, Porcius Festus became governor. Felix was no longer governor, but he had left Paul in prison to please the Jews.

25 As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control(A) and the judgment(B) to come, Felix was afraid(C) and said, “That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.” 26 At the same time he was hoping that Paul would offer him a bribe, so he sent for him frequently and talked with him.
27 When two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus,(D) but because Felix wanted to grant a favor to the Jews,(E) he left Paul in prison.(F)
