2 The high priest and the elders of the Jews spoke to him against Paul. And they begged him, 3 asking as a favor against him, that he would summon him to Jerusalem, plotting to kill him along the way. 4 Festus said that Paul should be kept at Caesarea and that he himself intended to go there shortly.

2 where the chief priests and the Jewish leaders appeared before him and presented the charges against Paul.(A) 3 They requested Festus, as a favor to them, to have Paul transferred to Jerusalem, for they were preparing an ambush to kill him along the way.(B) 4 Festus answered, “Paul is being held(C) at Caesarea,(D) and I myself am going there soon.
