26 The kings of the earth take their stand
and the rulers assemble together
against the Lord and against his Messiah.[a](A)
27 “For, in fact, in this city both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, assembled together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed,(B) 28 to do whatever your hand and your will had predestined to take place.

26 The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord

27 Indeed Herod(B) and Pontius Pilate(C) met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus,(D) whom you anointed. 28 They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen.(E)
