26 The kings of the earth took their stand
and the princes gathered together
against the Lord and against his anointed.’
27 Indeed they gathered in this city against your holy servant Jesus whom you anointed, Herod[a] and Pontius Pilate, together with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,(A) 28 to do what your hand and [your] will had long ago planned to take place.

26 The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord
and against his anointed one.[a]’[b](A)
27 Indeed Herod(B) and Pontius Pilate(C) met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus,(D) whom you anointed. 28 They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen.(E)
