And behold, (A)an angel of the Lord suddenly (B)stood near Peter, and a light shone in the cell; and he struck Peter’s side and woke him, saying, “Get up quickly.” And (C)his chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him, “Put on your belt and [a]strap on your sandals.” And he did so. And he *said to him, “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me.” And he went out and continued to follow, and yet he did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing (D)a vision. 10 Now when they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which (E)opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel departed from him. 11 When Peter (F)came [b]to himself, he said, “Now I know for sure that (G)the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all [c]that the Jewish people were expecting.”

Suddenly an angel(A) of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. “Quick, get up!” he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists.(B)

Then the angel said to him, “Put on your clothes and sandals.” And Peter did so. “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me,” the angel told him. Peter followed him out of the prison, but he had no idea that what the angel was doing was really happening; he thought he was seeing a vision.(C) 10 They passed the first and second guards and came to the iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by itself,(D) and they went through it. When they had walked the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him.

11 Then Peter came to himself(E) and said, “Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me(F) from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”
