40 After recalling the apostles, they had them flogged, ordered them to stop speaking in the name of Jesus, and dismissed them.(A) 41 So they left the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been found worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.(B) 42 And all day long, both at the temple and in their homes, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the Messiah, Jesus.(C)

40 His speech persuaded them. They called the apostles in and had them flogged.(A) Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

41 The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing(B) because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.(C) 42 Day after day, in the temple courts(D) and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news(E) that Jesus is the Messiah.(F)
