Acts 7:5-7
Darby Translation
5 And he did not give him an inheritance in it, not even what his foot could stand on; and promised to give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when he had no child.
6 And God spoke thus: His seed shall be a sojourner in a strange land, and they shall enslave them and evil entreat [them] four hundred years;
7 and the nation to which they shall be in bondage will *I* judge, said God; and after these things they shall come forth and serve me in this place.

New International Version
5 He gave him no inheritance here,(A) not even enough ground to set his foot on. But God promised him that he and his descendants after him would possess the land,(B) even though at that time Abraham had no child. 6 God spoke to him in this way: ‘For four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated.(C) 7 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves,’ God said, ‘and afterward they will come out of that country and worship me in this place.’[a](D)
