7 ‘And whatever nation to which they will be in bondage I Myself will judge,’ said God, ‘and (A)after that they will come out and [a]serve Me in this place.’ 8 And He (B)gave him [b]the covenant of circumcision; and so (C)Abraham became the father of Isaac, and circumcised him on the eighth day; and (D)Isaac became the father of Jacob, and (E)Jacob of the twelve (F)patriarchs.
9 “The patriarchs (G)became jealous of Joseph and sold him into Egypt. Yet God was with him,

7 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves,’ God said, ‘and afterward they will come out of that country and worship me in this place.’[a](A) 8 Then he gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision.(B) And Abraham became the father of Isaac and circumcised him eight days after his birth.(C) Later Isaac became the father of Jacob,(D) and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.(E)
