³^(A) Saul started making a lot of trouble for the church. He went from house to house, arresting men and women and putting them in jail.

Acts 8:3

New International Version

³But Saul^(A) began to destroy the church.^(B) Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.

⁴He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying, “Saul! Saul! Why are you so cruel to me?”

⁴He fell to the ground and heard a voice^(A) say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

⁵“Who are you?” Saul asked.

“I am Jesus,” the Lord answered. “I am the one you are so cruel to.

⁵“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.

“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied.
