³⁵ but ^(A)in every nation the one who ^[a](B)fears Him and ^[b]does what is right is acceptable to Him.

^27 (A)What I tell you in the darkness, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim ^(B)on the housetops. ²⁸ And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather ^(C)fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in ^[a](D)hell.

¹² So then, my beloved, ^(A)just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own ^(B)salvation with ^(C)fear and trembling; ¹³ for it is ^(D)God who is at work in you, both to ^[a]desire and to work ^(E)for His good pleasure.
