“Men of Israel and ^(B)you who fear God, listen.

³³ Some of the crowd prompted Alexander, whom the Jews had put forward. And Alexander, ^(A)motioning with his hand, wanted to make a defence to the crowd.

⁴⁰ And when he had given him permission, Paul, standing on the steps, ^(A)motioned with his hand to the people. And when there was a great hush, he addressed them in ^(B)the Hebrew language,^[a] saying:
