²⁷ When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia,^(A) the brothers and sisters^(B) encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. When he arrived, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed.

²¹ After all this had happened, Paul decided^[a] to go to Jerusalem,^(A) passing through Macedonia^(B) and Achaia.^(C) “After I have been there,” he said, “I must visit Rome also.”^(D)

²⁶ For Macedonia^(A) and Achaia^(B) were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the Lord’s people in Jerusalem.^(C)

¹⁵ You know that the household of Stephanas^(A) were the first converts^(B) in Achaia,^(C) and they have devoted themselves to the service^(D) of the Lord’s people.^(E) I urge you, brothers and sisters,

1 Paul, an apostle^(A) of Christ Jesus by the will of God,^(B) and Timothy^(C) our brother,

To the church of God^(D) in Corinth,^(E) together with all his holy people throughout Achaia:^(F)

² For I know your eagerness to help,^(A) and I have been boasting^(B) about it to the Macedonians, telling them that since last year^(C) you in Achaia^(D) were ready to give; and your enthusiasm has stirred most of them to action.

¹⁰ As surely as the truth of Christ is in me,^(A) nobody in the regions of Achaia^(B) will stop this boasting^(C) of mine.

⁷ And so you became a model^(A) to all the believers in Macedonia^(B) and Achaia.^{(C) 8} The Lord’s message^(D) rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere.^(E) Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, ⁹ for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned^(F) to God from idols^(G) to serve the living and true God,^{(H) 10} and to wait for his Son from heaven,^(I) whom he raised from the dead^(J)—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.^(K)
