Amos 1:5-7
English Standard Version

5 I will (A)break the gate-bar of (B)Damascus,
    and cut off the inhabitants from the Valley of (C)Aven,[a]
and him who holds the scepter from (D)Beth-eden;
    and the people of (E)Syria shall go into exile to (F)Kir,”
says the Lord.

6 Thus says the Lord:

(G)“For three transgressions of (H)Gaza,
    and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,
because (I)they carried into exile a whole people
    to deliver them up to Edom.
7 So I will send a fire upon the wall of (J)Gaza,
    and it shall devour her strongholds.

says the Lord.(D)

6 This is what the Lord says:

“For three sins of Gaza,(E)
    even for four, I will not relent.(F)
Because she took captive whole communities
    and sold them to Edom,(G)
7 I will send fire on the walls of Gaza
    that will consume her fortresses.
