Amos 2:7-9

⁷They trample the heads of the poor^(A)
on the dust of the ground
and block the path of the needy.^(B)
A man and his father have sexual relations
with the same girl,^(C)
profaning My holy name.^(D)
⁸They stretch out beside every altar^(E)
on garments taken as collateral,^(F)
and in the house of their God,
they drink wine obtained through fines.^(G)

⁹Yet I destroyed the Amorite^(H) as Israel advanced;
his height^(I) was like the cedars,
and he was as sturdy as the oaks;
I destroyed his fruit^(J) above and his roots beneath.
