Amos 5:9-11
Christian Standard Bible

9 He brings destruction[a] on the strong,[b](A)
and it falls on the fortress.(B)

10 They hate the one who convicts the guilty(C)
at the city gate,
and they despise(D) the one who speaks with integrity.
11 Therefore, because you trample on the poor(E)
and exact a grain tax from him,
you will never live in the houses of cut stone(F)
you have built;
you will never drink the wine
from the lush vineyards
you have planted.(G)

10 There are those who hate the one who upholds justice in court(B)
    and detest the one who tells the truth.(C)

11 You levy a straw tax on the poor(D)
    and impose a tax on their grain.
Therefore, though you have built stone mansions,(E)
    you will not live in them;(F)
though you have planted lush vineyards,
    you will not drink their wine.(G)
