Amos 6:7-9

⁷Therefore, they will now go into exile
as the first of the captives,^(A)
and the feasting^(B) of those who sprawl out
will come to an end.

⁸The Lord God has sworn by Himself^(C)—this is the declaration of Yahweh, the God of Hosts:

I loathe Jacob’s pride^(D)
and hate his citadels,^(E)
so I will hand over the city^(F) and everything in it.

⁹And if there are 10 men left in one house, they will die.^(G)

⁷Therefore you will be among the first to go into exile;^(A)
your feasting and lounging will end.^(B)

⁸The Sovereign Lord has sworn by himself^(C)—the Lord God Almighty declares:

“I abhor^(D) the pride of Jacob^(E)
and detest his fortresses;^(F)
I will deliver up^(G) the city
and everything in it.^(H)”

⁹If ten^(I) people are left in one house, they too will die.
