11 Dhulka oo dhammuna wuxuu ahaa isku af iyo isku hadal keliya. 2 Waxaana dhacday markay xagga bari u sii socdaaleen inay waddankii Shincaar meel bannaan ka heleen; oo halkaas ayay degeen. 3 Oo waxay isku yidhaahdeen, Ina keena, aynu leben samaysannee, oo aynu aad u dubnee. Oo waxay dhagaxa meeshiisa u haysteen leben, nuuradda meesheedana dhoobo. 4 Oo waxay yidhaahdeen, Ina keena, aynu magaalo dhisannee, iyo munaarad dhaladeedu samada gaadho, oo aynu magac yeelannee, waaba intaasoo aynu dhulka dushiisa oo dhan ku kala firidhnaaye. 5 Rabbiguna wuxuu u soo degay inuu arko magaaladii iyo munaaraddii ay binu-aadmigu dhisayeen. 6 Oo Rabbigu wuxuu yidhi, Bal eega, iyagu waa isku dad keliya, oo dhammaan isku af keliya bay leeyihiin, oo waxanuna waa waxa ay bilaabayaan inay sameeyaan, oo haatan wax ka hor joogsan doona waxay damcaan inay sameeyaan ma jiraane. 7 Ina keena, aynu degnee, oo halkaas aynu afkooda iskaga qasnee, yaan midna midka kale hadalkiisa garanine. 8 Kolkaasaa Rabbigu halkaas ka kaxeeyey oo ku kala firdhiyey dhulka dushiisa oo dhan, oo dhisiddii magaaladii way joojiyeen. 9 Sidaas daraaddeed magaceedii waxaa loo bixiyey Baabel, maxaa yeelay, halkaasaa Rabbigu afkii dhulka oo dhan iskaga qasay; oo halkaasuu Rabbigu ka kaxeeyey iyagii oo ku kala firdhiyey dhulka dushiisa oo dhan.
Qarniyaashii Sheem Ilaa Aabraam
10 Kuwanu waa farcankii Sheem. Sheem wuxuu jiray boqol sannadood, oo laba sannadood oo daadkii ka dambaysay wuxuu dhalay Arfaksad. 11 Sheemna markuu Arfaksad dhalay ka dib wuxuu noolaa shan boqol oo sannadood, wiilal iyo gabdhona wuu dhalay.
12 Arfaksadna wuxuu jiray shan iyo soddon sannadood, wuxuuna dhalay Salah: 13 Arfaksadna markuu Salah dhalay ka dib wuxuu noolaa afar boqol iyo saddex sannadood, wiilal iyo gabdhona wuu dhalay.
14 Salahna wuxuu jiray soddon sannadood, wuxuuna dhalay Ceeber. 15 Salahna markuu Ceeber dhalay ka dib wuxuu noolaa afar boqol iyo saddex sannadood, wiilal iyo gabdhona wuu dhalay.
16 Ceeberna wuxuu jiray afar iyo soddon sannadood, wuxuuna dhalay Feleg: 17 Ceeberna markuu Feleg dhalay ka dib wuxuu noolaa afar boqol iyo soddon sannadood, wiilal iyo gabdhona wuu dhalay.
18 Felegna wuxuu jiray soddon sannadood, wuxuuna dhalay Recu: 19 Felegna markuu Recu dhalay ka dib wuxuu noolaa laba boqol iyo sagaal sannadood, wiilal iyo gabdhona wuu dhalay.
20 Recuna wuxuu jiray laba iyo soddon sannadood, wuxuuna dhalay Seruug. 21 Recuna markuu Seruug dhalay ka dib wuxuu noolaa laba boqol iyo toddoba sannadood, wiilal iyo gabdhona wuu dhalay.
22 Seruugna wuxuu jiray soddon sannadood, wuxuuna dhalay Naaxoor: 23 Seruugna markuu Naaxoor dhalay ka dib wuxuu noolaa laba boqol oo sannadood, wiilal iyo gabdhona wuu dhalay.
24 Naaxoorna wuxuu jiray sagaal iyo labaatan sannadood, wuxuuna dhalay Terax; 25 Naaxoorna markuu Terax dhalay ka dib wuxuu noolaa boqol iyo sagaal iyo toban sannadood, wiilal iyo gabdhona wuu dhalay.
26 Teraxna wuxuu jiray toddobaatan sannadood, wuxuuna dhalay Aabraam, iyo Naaxoor, iyo Haaraan.
27 Kuwanu waa farcankii Terax. Terax wuxuu dhalay Aabraam, iyo Naaxoor, iyo Haaraan; Haaraanna wuxuu dhalay Luud. 28 Haaraanna wuxuu dhintay aabbihiis Terax oo jooga, wuxuuna ku dhintay dhulkii uu ku dhashay, oo la odhan jiray Uur tii reer Kaldayiin. 29 Aabraam iyo Naaxoorna way guursadeen: Aabraam naagtiisii waxaa la odhan jiray Saaray; naagtii Naaxoorna waxaa la odhan jiray Milkah, waxayna ahayd gabadhii Haaraan, aabbihii Milkah iyo Iskah. 30 Saarayna waxay ahayd madhalays; ilmona ma ay lahayn. 31 Teraxna wuxuu kaxaystay wiilkiisii Aabraam, iyo Luud oo ahaa ina Haaraan, wiilkii wiilkiisii, iyo Saaray oo uu soddog u ahaa, oo ahayd naagtii wiilkiisii Aabraam; wayna kala baxeen Uur tii reer Kaldayiin, si ay u tagaan dalkii Kancaan; waxayna yimaadeen Haaraan, oo halkaasay degeen. 32 Wakhtigii Terax noolaa wuxuu ahaa laba boqol iyo shan sannadood, Teraxna wuxuu ku dhintay Haaraan.

The Tower of Babel
11 Now the whole world had one language(A) and a common speech. 2 As people moved eastward,[a] they found a plain in Shinar[b](B) and settled there.
3 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks(C) and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone,(D) and tar(E) for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens,(F) so that we may make a name(G) for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered(H) over the face of the whole earth.”(I)
5 But the Lord came down(J) to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language(K) they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us(L) go down(M) and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”(N)
8 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth,(O) and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel[c](P)—because there the Lord confused the language(Q) of the whole world.(R) From there the Lord scattered(S) them over the face of the whole earth.
From Shem to Abram(T)
10 This is the account(U) of Shem’s family line.
Two years after the flood, when Shem was 100 years old, he became the father[d] of Arphaxad.(V) 11 And after he became the father of Arphaxad, Shem lived 500 years and had other sons and daughters.
12 When Arphaxad had lived 35 years, he became the father of Shelah.(W) 13 And after he became the father of Shelah, Arphaxad lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.[e]
14 When Shelah had lived 30 years, he became the father of Eber.(X) 15 And after he became the father of Eber, Shelah lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.
16 When Eber had lived 34 years, he became the father of Peleg.(Y) 17 And after he became the father of Peleg, Eber lived 430 years and had other sons and daughters.
18 When Peleg had lived 30 years, he became the father of Reu.(Z) 19 And after he became the father of Reu, Peleg lived 209 years and had other sons and daughters.
20 When Reu had lived 32 years, he became the father of Serug.(AA) 21 And after he became the father of Serug, Reu lived 207 years and had other sons and daughters.
22 When Serug had lived 30 years, he became the father of Nahor.(AB) 23 And after he became the father of Nahor, Serug lived 200 years and had other sons and daughters.
24 When Nahor had lived 29 years, he became the father of Terah.(AC) 25 And after he became the father of Terah, Nahor lived 119 years and had other sons and daughters.
26 After Terah had lived 70 years, he became the father of Abram,(AD) Nahor(AE) and Haran.(AF)
Abram’s Family
27 This is the account(AG) of Terah’s family line.
Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor(AH) and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.(AI) 28 While his father Terah was still alive, Haran died in Ur of the Chaldeans,(AJ) in the land of his birth. 29 Abram and Nahor(AK) both married. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai,(AL) and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milkah;(AM) she was the daughter of Haran, the father of both Milkah and Iskah. 30 Now Sarai was childless because she was not able to conceive.(AN)
31 Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot(AO) son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law(AP) Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans(AQ) to go to Canaan.(AR) But when they came to Harran,(AS) they settled there.
32 Terah(AT) lived 205 years, and he died in Harran.
