Daniel 1:14-16
New English Translation
14 So the warden[a] agreed to their proposal[b] and tested them for ten[c] days.
15 At the end of the ten days their appearance was better and their bodies were healthier[d] than all the young men who had been eating the royal delicacies. 16 So the warden removed the delicacies and the wine[e] from their diet[f] and gave them a diet of vegetables instead.

New International Version
14 So he agreed to this and tested(A) them for ten days.
15 At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.(B) 16 So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead.(C)
