16 So the overseer continued to [a]withhold their choice food and the wine they were to drink, and kept (A)giving them vegetables.
17 And as for these four youths, (B)God gave them knowledge and intelligence in every kind of [b]literature and expertise; Daniel even understood all kinds of (C)visions and dreams.
18 Then at the end of the days which the king had [c]specified [d]for presenting them, the commander of the officials [e]presented them before Nebuchadnezzar.

16 So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead.(A)
17 To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding(B) of all kinds of literature and learning.(C) And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.(D)
18 At the end of the time(E) set by the king to bring them into his service, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar.
