Daniel 11:18-20

Amplified Bible

¹⁸ After this, he (Antiochus III the Great, King of Syria) will turn his attention to the ^[a]islands and coastlands and capture many [of them]. But a commander (Lucius Scipio Asiaticus of Rome) will put an end to his aggression [toward Rome’s territorial interests]; in fact, he will repay his insolence and turn his audacity back upon him. ¹⁹ Then he will turn back toward the fortresses of his own land [of Syria], but he will stumble and fall and not be found.

²⁰ “Then in his place one (his eldest son, Seleucus IV Philopator) will arise who will send an oppressor through the Jewel of his kingdom; yet within a few days he will be ^[b]shattered, though not in anger nor in battle.
