6 One of them said to the man dressed in linen,(A) who was above the waters of the river,(B) “How long until the end(C) of these extraordinary things?” 7 Then I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river. He raised both his hands[a](D) toward heaven and swore by Him who lives eternally(E) that it would be for a time, times, and half a time.(F) When the power of the holy people is shattered, all these things will be completed.
8 I heard but did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?”(G)

6 One of them said to the man clothed in linen,(A) who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”(B)
7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand(C) and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever,(D) saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time.[a](E) When the power of the holy people(F) has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.(G)”
8 I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”
