27 By way of answer, Daniel addressed the king:[a]

“None of the advisors,[b] enchanters,[c] diviners, or astrologers[d] can explain the secret that the king has requested to be made known.[e] 28 But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he is making known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the latter days.

“While you were in bed, the dream and the visions that came to your head were as follows: 29 Your majesty,[f] when you were in bed, thoughts came to your mind[g] about what would happen in the future, and the Revealer of Secrets has made known to you what will take place.

27 Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about,(A) 28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.(B) He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come.(C) Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind(D) as you were lying in bed(E) are these:(F)

29 “As Your Majesty was lying there, your mind turned to things to come, and the revealer of mysteries showed you what is going to happen.(G)
