3 he said to them, ‘I have had such a dream that my spirit is troubled by the desire to understand it.’ 4 The Chaldeans said to the king (in Aramaic),[a] ‘O king, live for ever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will reveal the interpretation.’ 5 The king answered the Chaldeans, ‘This is a public decree: if you do not tell me both the dream and its interpretation, you shall be torn limb from limb, and your houses shall be laid in ruins.

New International Version
3 he said to them, “I have had a dream that troubles(A) me and I want to know what it means.[a]”
4 Then the astrologers answered the king,[b](B) “May the king live forever!(C) Tell your servants the dream, and we will interpret it.”
5 The king replied to the astrologers, “This is what I have firmly decided:(D) If you do not tell me what my dream was and interpret it, I will have you cut into pieces(E) and your houses turned into piles of rubble.(F)
