6 So I issued a decree(A) to bring all the wise men of Babylon to me in order that they might make the dream’s interpretation known to me.(B) 7 When the diviner-priests, mediums, Chaldeans, and astrologers came in, I told them the dream, but they could not make its interpretation known to me.(C)
8 Finally Daniel, named Belteshazzar(D) after the name of my god—and the spirit of the holy gods is in him(E)—came before me. I told him the dream:

6 So I commanded that all the wise men of Babylon be brought before me to interpret(A) the dream for me. 7 When the magicians,(B) enchanters, astrologers[a] and diviners(C) came, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me.(D) 8 Finally, Daniel came into my presence and I told him the dream. (He is called Belteshazzar,(E) after the name of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods(F) is in him.)
