²⁴Then from his presence was sent the palm of the hand that sculpted this writing.

²⁵And the writing that he sculpted is, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

²⁶This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God has audited thy kingdom and finished it.

mene, mene, tekel, parsin

²⁶“Here is what these words mean:

Mene^[a]: God has numbered the days^(A) of your reign and brought it to an end.^(B)
