21 Then he heard a voice! “Your Majesty, live forever!” It was Daniel! 22 “My God has sent his angel,” he said, “to shut the lions’ mouths so that they can’t touch me, for I am innocent before God; nor, sir, have I wronged you.”

23 The king was beside himself with joy and ordered Daniel lifted from the den. And not a scratch was found on him because he believed in his God.

21 Daniel answered, “May the king live forever!(A) 22 My God sent his angel,(B) and he shut the mouths of the lions.(C) They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight.(D) Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.”

23 The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound(E) was found on him, because he had trusted(F) in his God.
