24 And the king commanded, and (A)those men who had maliciously accused Daniel were brought and cast into the den of lions—they, their children, and their wives. And before they reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and broke all their bones in pieces.

25 Then King Darius wrote to all (B)the peoples, nations, and languages (C)that dwell in all the earth: (D)“Peace be multiplied to you. 26 (E)I make a decree, that in all my royal dominion (F)people are to tremble and fear before the God of Daniel,

for (G)he is (H)the living God,
    enduring for ever;
his kingdom shall never be destroyed,
    (I)and his dominion shall be (J)to the end.

“May you prosper greatly!(E)

26 “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence(F) the God of Daniel.(G)

“For he is the living God(H)
    and he endures forever;(I)
his kingdom will not be destroyed,
    his dominion will never end.(J)
