16 I went to someone who was standing there and asked him to tell me the truth about all this. So he told me what all this meant. 17 He said, “These four large animals are four kingdoms that will rise to power on the earth. 18 But the holy people of the Elyonin will take possession of the kingdom and keep it forever and ever.”

16 I approached one of those standing there and asked him the meaning of all this.
“So he told me and gave me the interpretation(A) of these things: 17 ‘The four great beasts are four kings that will rise from the earth. 18 But the holy people(B) of the Most High will receive the kingdom(C) and will possess it forever—yes, for ever and ever.’(D)
