10 It grew to be as great as the army of heaven and made some of them fall to the earth, and it crushed them into the ground. 11 It thought itself to be as great as the Ruler of the army of heaven. It took away the burnt gifts which were given to Him each day, and destroyed His holy place. 12 Because of sin, the army of heaven and the burnt gifts were given over to the horn. It did well in whatever it wanted to do, and truth was thrown to the ground.

10 It grew until it reached(A) the host of the heavens, and it threw some of the starry host down to the earth(B) and trampled(C) on them. 11 It set itself up to be as great as the commander(D) of the army of the Lord;(E) it took away the daily sacrifice(F) from the Lord, and his sanctuary was thrown down.(G) 12 Because of rebellion, the Lord’s people[a] and the daily sacrifice were given over to it. It prospered in everything it did, and truth was thrown to the ground.(H)
