Good News Translation
12 You did what you said you would do to us and our rulers. You punished Jerusalem more severely than any other city on earth, 13 giving us all the punishment described in the Law of Moses. But even now, O Lord our God, we have not tried to please you by turning from our sins or by following your truth. 14 You, O Lord our God, were prepared to punish us, and you did, because you always do what is right, and we did not listen to you.

12 You have fulfilled(A) the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing on us great disaster.(B) Under the whole heaven nothing has ever been done like(C) what has been done to Jerusalem.(D) 13 Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord(E) our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth.(F) 14 The Lord did not hesitate to bring the disaster(G) on us, for the Lord our God is righteous in everything he does;(H) yet we have not obeyed him.(I)
