5 Look! I have taught you statutes and ordinances just as the Lord my God told me to do, so that you might carry them out in[a] the land you are about to enter and possess. 6 So be sure to do them, because this will testify of your wise understanding[b] to the people who will learn of all these statutes and say, “Indeed, this great nation is a very wise[c] people.” 7 In fact, what other great nation has a god so near to them like the Lord our God whenever we call on him? 8 And what other great nation has statutes and ordinances as just[d] as this whole law[e] that I am about to share with[f] you today?

In a full canonical sense, of course, it pertains to the entire Pentateuch or Torah.

5 See, I have taught(A) you decrees and laws(B) as the Lord my God commanded(C) me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering(D) to take possession of it. 6 Observe(E) them carefully, for this will show your wisdom(F) and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”(G) 7 What other nation is so great(H) as to have their gods near(I) them the way the Lord our God is near us whenever we pray to him? 8 And what other nation is so great as to have such righteous decrees and laws(J) as this body of laws I am setting before you today?
