²⁸ So that they caused ^(A)the cry of the poor to come to Him,
And that He would ^(B)hear the cry of the afflicted—

¹⁴ You have seen it, for You have looked at ^(A)harm and provocation to ^[a]take it into Your hand.
The ^[b](B)unfortunate commits himself to You;
You have been the ^(C)helper of the orphan.

¹⁷ Lord, You have heard the ^(A)desire of the humble;
You will ^(B)strengthen their heart, ^(C)You will make Your ear attentive
¹⁸ To ^[a]vindicate the ^(D)orphan and the ^(E)oppressed,
So that mankind, which is of the earth, will no longer cause ^(F)terror.

⁶ In my ^(A)distress I called upon the Lord,
And cried to my God for help;
He heard my voice ^(B)from His temple,
And my ^(C)cry for help before Him came into His ears.
