16 Beware lest perhaps your heart be deceived, and you depart from the Lord, and serve strange gods, and adore them:
17 And the Lord being angry shut up heaven, that the rain come not down, nor the earth yield her fruit, and you perish quickly from the excellent land, which the Lord will give you.
18 Lay up these my words in your hearts and minds, and hang them for a sign on your hands, and place them between your eyes.

16 Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them.(A) 17 Then the Lord’s anger(B) will burn against you, and he will shut up(C) the heavens so that it will not rain and the ground will yield no produce,(D) and you will soon perish(E) from the good land the Lord is giving you. 18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.(F)
