⁶ If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices^(A) you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods”^(B) (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known,

¹¹ Then all Israel will hear and be afraid,^(A) and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.

¹² If you hear it said about one of the towns the Lord your God is giving you to live in

²¹ she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done an outrageous thing^(A) in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.

²⁴ you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death—the young woman because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man’s wife. You must purge the evil from among you.^(A)

² “Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Molek is to be put to death.^(A) The members of the community are to stone him.^(B)

¹⁴ “Take the blasphemer outside the camp. All those who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the entire assembly is to stone him.^{(A) 15} Say to the Israelites: ‘Anyone who curses their God^(B) will be held responsible;^{(C) 16} anyone who blasphemes^(D) the name of the Lord is to be put to death.^(E) The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.
