GOD’S WORD Translation
9 You must put them to death. You must start the execution. Then all the other people will join you in putting them to death. 10 Stone them to death because they were trying to lead you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of slavery in Egypt. 11 All Israel will hear about it and be afraid. Then no one among you will ever do such a wicked thing again.

9 You must certainly put them to death.(A) Your hand(B) must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people. 10 Stone them to death, because they tried to turn you away(C) from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 11 Then all Israel will hear and be afraid,(D) and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.
