On the evidence of[a] two or three witnesses the person shall be put to death.[b] The person[c] shall not be put to death by the mouth of one witness. The hand of the witnesses shall be first against the person[d] to kill the person,[e] and afterward the hands[f] of all the people, and so you shall purge the evil from your midst.

If a matter is too difficult for you,[g] for example disputes between blood and blood,[h] between legal claim and legal claim[i] and between assault and assault[j] and between matters of discernment in your towns,[k] then you shall get up and you shall go to the place that Yahweh your God will choose;

On the testimony of two or three witnesses a person is to be put to death, but no one is to be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.(A) The hands of the witnesses must be the first in putting that person to death,(B) and then the hands of all the people.(C) You must purge the evil(D) from among you.

Law Courts

If cases come before your courts that are too difficult for you to judge(E)—whether bloodshed, lawsuits or assaults(F)—take them to the place the Lord your God will choose.(G)
