Deuteronomy 18:19-21
New International Reader's Version
19 The prophet will speak in my name. But someone might not listen to what I say through the prophet. I will hold that person responsible for not listening. 20 But suppose a prophet dares to speak in my name something I have not commanded. Or he speaks in the name of other gods. Then that prophet must be put to death.”
21 You will say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message hasn’t been spoken by the Lord?”

19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?
