23 (A)his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall bury him the same day, for (B)a hanged man is cursed by God. (C)You shall not defile your land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance.

29 He impaled the body of the king of Ai on a pole and left it there until evening. At sunset,(A) Joshua ordered them to take the body from the pole and throw it down at the entrance of the city gate. And they raised a large pile of rocks(B) over it, which remains to this day.

And (A)they hung on the trees until evening. 27 But at the time of the going down of the sun, Joshua commanded, and (B)they took them down from the trees and threw them into the cave where they had hidden themselves, and they set large stones against the mouth of the cave, which remain to this very day.
