Deuteronomy 25:8-10
New Life Version
8 Then the leaders of his city will call him and speak to him. If he still says, ‘I do not want to take her,’ 9 then his brother’s wife will come to him in front of the leaders. She will pull his shoe off his foot and spit in his face. And she will say, ‘This is what is done to the man who will not build up his brother’s house.’ 10 In Israel his name will be called, ‘The house of him whose shoe is pulled off.’

New International Version
8 Then the elders of his town shall summon him and talk to him. If he persists in saying, “I do not want to marry her,” 9 his brother’s widow shall go up to him in the presence of the elders, take off one of his sandals,(A) spit in his face(B) and say, “This is what is done to the man who will not build up his brother’s family line.” 10 That man’s line shall be known in Israel as The Family of the Unsandaled.
