³⁸ “^(A)You shall bring out much seed to the field, but you will gather in little, for ^(B)the locust will consume it. ^39 (C)You shall plant and cultivate vineyards, but you will neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes, for the worm will devour them. ^40 (D)You shall have olive trees throughout your territory, but you will not anoint yourself with the oil, for your olives will drop off.

⁹ “^(A)You look for much, but behold, it comes to little; and you bring it home, and I ^(B)blow it away. Why?” declares Yahweh of hosts, “Because of My house which ^(C)lies waste, while each of you runs to his own house. ¹⁰ Therefore, because of you the ^(D)sky has restrained ^[a]its dew and the earth has restrained its produce.

^16 [a]from when it was that one came to a grain heap of twenty measures, then there would be only ten; and from when one came to the wine vat to draw fifty troughs full, then there would be only twenty. ¹⁷ I struck you and every work of your hands with ^(A)scorching wind, mildew, and hail; ^[b]yet you did not come back to Me,’ declares Yahweh.
