³⁸ “^(A)You shall bring out much seed to the field but you will gather in little, for ^(B)the locust will consume it. ^39 (C)You shall plant and cultivate vineyards, but you will neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes, for the worm will devour them. ^40 (D)You shall have olive trees throughout your territory but you will not anoint yourself with the oil, for your olives will drop off.

⁹ “^(A)You look for much, but behold, it comes to little; when you bring it home, I ^(B)blow it away. Why?” declares the Lord of hosts, “Because of My house which ^(C)lies desolate, while each of you runs to his own house. ¹⁰ Therefore, because of you the ^(D)sky has withheld ^[a]its dew and the earth has withheld its produce.

^16 [a]from that time when one came to a grain heap of twenty measures, there would be only ten; and when one came to the wine vat to draw fifty ^[b]measures, there would be only twenty. ¹⁷ I smote you and every work of your hands with ^(A)blasting wind, mildew and hail; ^[c]yet you did not come back to Me,’ declares the Lord.
