48 you will serve your enemies whom the Lord will send against you, (A)in hunger, thirst, nakedness, and devoid of all things; and He (B)will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has destroyed you.
49 “(C)The Lord will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, (D)as the eagle swoops down; a nation whose language you will not understand, 50 a nation [a]with a defiant attitude, who will (E)have no respect for the old, nor show favor to the young.

48 therefore in hunger and thirst,(A) in nakedness and dire poverty, you will serve the enemies the Lord sends against you. He will put an iron yoke(B) on your neck(C) until he has destroyed you.
49 The Lord will bring a nation against you(D) from far away, from the ends of the earth,(E) like an eagle(F) swooping down, a nation whose language you will not understand,(G) 50 a fierce-looking nation without respect for the old(H) or pity for the young.
