Choose Life

15 “See, (A)I have set before you today life and [a]prosperity, and death and [b]adversity; 16 in that I command you today (B)to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you (C)may live and multiply, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it. 17 But if your heart turns away and you will not obey, but are drawn away and worship other gods and serve them, 18 I declare to you today that (D)you shall surely perish. You will not prolong your days in the land where you are crossing the Jordan to enter [c]and possess it. 19 (E)I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, (F)the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your [d]descendants, 20 (G)by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and (H)by holding fast to Him; (I)for [e]this is your life and the length of your days, [f]that you may live in (J)the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

And (D)by this word you will prolong your days in the land, [b]which you are about to cross the Jordan to [c]possess.”

48 (E)The Lord spoke to Moses that very same day, saying, 49 (F)Go up to this mountain of the Abarim, Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab [d]opposite Jericho, and look at the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the sons of Israel for a possession. 50 Then die on the mountain where you ascend, and be (G)gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people, 51 (H)because you broke faith with Me in the midst of the sons of Israel at the waters of Meribah-kadesh, in the (I)wilderness of Zin, because you did not treat Me as holy in the midst of the sons of Israel. 52 (J)For you shall see the land at a distance, but (K)you shall not go there, into the land which I am giving the sons of Israel.”
