¹⁷ But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them,

^18 (A)I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess.

¹⁶ “Thus says the whole congregation of the Lord: ‘What ^(A)treachery^[a] is this that you have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the Lord, in that you have built for yourselves an altar, ^(B)that you might rebel this day against the Lord? ¹⁷ Is the iniquity ^(C)of Peor not enough for us, from which we are not cleansed till this day, although there was a plague in the congregation of the Lord, ¹⁸ but that you must turn away this day from following the Lord? And it shall be, if you rebel today against the Lord, that tomorrow ^(D)He will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel.

^19 (A)“But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods, and worship them,

² And he went out ^[a]to meet Asa, and said to him: “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. ^(A)The Lord is with you while you are with Him. ^(B)If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but ^(C)if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.
